If you are looking for your next Fae book to read, look no further。 This book is so well written and it’s such a great read。 Especially the ending! There’s some great characters, some spice and a bit of a love triangle thing going on。 Zylah is a very brave FMC and I liked her。 The owl, Kopi, is an awesome companion! Over the last few days I finally had the whole day to myself for the most part and dove straight into reading。 Besides tomorrow is my birthday, so please go easy on me。 *innocent smile*A Legacy of Storms and Starlight was almost immediately revetting。 I was drawn into the story like this *snaps fingers*。 I think I finished the book in about one sitting。ALoSaS was one of those books whose world building, plot and writing were all best friends, helping the other along while ensuring everyone had fun in the process。 So one of the more successful ways of ensuring your readers and the world building is on the same page is to have your MC be blind to the rules of the world as well。 This is usually one of the more fool-proof ways of solid world building。 I mean yeah, sometimes it can be a slippery slope of information overload。 Victoria however killed it。The plot was … hidden in plain sight, which was the best part of the book itself。 I wasn’t expecting any surprises (save one or two) and perhaps that’s why everything felt like a small twist。I think Zayla, the MC, really finds her way into your heart from the beginning。 Throughout the story you feel for her even if you don’t always understand her。 She’s strong, brave, struggling and victorious and she keeps you with her every moment of her narration。I’m going to keep quiet about the rest of the characters because the best part of the story itself is that the characters unravel along with the plot。There were some inconsistencies here and there; a few things that were smaaaall holes here and there, but they don’t particularly stay in your mind or bother you as much。The book was definitely a perfect slump-breaker and I highly highly recommend this to anyone who’s interested in a high fantasy filled with action, love and magic。 Four and a half stars! 。。。more

Ok ok ok - so! I really enjoyed this book BUT it loses a star because it took about 20% to get going。 Once it did, it was great! Well worth continuing。Zylah, Holt, Raif, Rose and Saphi were all fab Characters, with Holt being my fave!!

This book was surprising because it enters the genre of fae fantasy romance and you think “okay I can see how this all plays out” and then the author completely upends those expectations。For starters the love interest doesn’t end up being who you might assume。 Then the ending was a complete wtf I did not see that one coming at all?I found this book a little slow。 I kept putting it down but that last 25% I was like okay we’re going places now。 Shit is getting real。If I’m being honest, if it weren This book was surprising because it enters the genre of fae fantasy romance and you think “okay I can see how this all plays out” and then the author completely upends those expectations。For starters the love interest doesn’t end up being who you might assume。 Then the ending was a complete wtf I did not see that one coming at all?I found this book a little slow。 I kept putting it down but that last 25% I was like okay we’re going places now。 Shit is getting real。If I’m being honest, if it weren’t for that ending I would’ve rated this 3 stars but that ending WAS well done so I’m bumping it to 4 stars。But my biggest issue is I wish it had a tighter editing for detail consistency。 At the beginning the FMC talks about how she was well trained by her brother who is the king’s blade。 But then later on she all of a sudden has no training skills and desperately seeks it out。 And I’m completely confused by that? There’s just areas where details didn’t align that bothered me。 Another example of this is why on earth would she assume there would be a fae uprising on her behalf when no one even knows who she is? It makes no sense。In terms of spice I would say low level 2 peppers。 But it was well done and not overly cringey like sex scenes can sometimes be。The characters were fine。 I wasnt 100% invested in them until very late in the book。 At times they just felt on the flat side and didn’t have a ton of depth as I wanted。Overall I quite enjoyed this and definitely looking forward to the next one。 。。。more

ALOSAS throws us right in from the very first sentence: Zylah is about to be hanged for murder。 After a daring escape, she is thrown into a secretive world of Faes and assassins as she tries to make a new life, and understand herself a little more along the way。 This is a beautifully written novel, with glorious descriptions of towns, forests, and mountains。 I loved the found family dynamic--not just with other Fae but with feathery friends, too。 I loved the romance, and there's definitely a slo ALOSAS throws us right in from the very first sentence: Zylah is about to be hanged for murder。 After a daring escape, she is thrown into a secretive world of Faes and assassins as she tries to make a new life, and understand herself a little more along the way。 This is a beautifully written novel, with glorious descriptions of towns, forests, and mountains。 I loved the found family dynamic--not just with other Fae but with feathery friends, too。 I loved the romance, and there's definitely a slowburn love triangle going on somewhere, even if it was very subtle and overpowered by the steamy romance between Zylah and a witty Fae (that had me swooning)。 I also really appreciated Zylah's reluctance and anxiety when it came to romance, especially given the reason she was imprisoned。 Plot-wise, it's definitely a character-driven novel。 Despite being a slow start, it picks up around halfway through the novel and delivers a set of brutal realisations that I didn't see coming。 I'm excited to see what else Zylah's story has in store for us。 Overall, a magical read。 。。。more

"Memories are fickle things。 But, sometimes they're all there is。"The world building is magical and fascinating, it's written pretty well since I can understand and follow the plot easily。 What I love most from this book is the animal companion, Kopi the owl。 He's so adorable! There are also a few time jumps and the pacing was slightly too fast。 I would've love to know more about the characters, the uprising community and how the magic works。 I hope I'll got to see it more in the next book。T "Memories are fickle things。 But, sometimes they're all there is。"The world building is magical and fascinating, it's written pretty well since I can understand and follow the plot easily。 What I love most from this book is the animal companion, Kopi the owl。 He's so adorable! Because the guy that I thought was going to be the love interest (Holt) somehow didn't turn up to be the love interest! This book really surprised me in an unexpected way。 I didn't really like Zylah's instant romance relationship with Raif and it also feels unfair to him because Zylah also have some sort of connection and attraction to Holt as well。 I can't even really call this a love triangle to be honest。 Although, after finishing this book I really wanted Zylah to end up with Holt! After that unexpected twisted ending, I just need book 2 right now! Because I have LOTS of questions that needed answers!!This book has a lot of potentials, we've only known a small part from this big unknown universe。 There are still many secrets from these characters we have yet to see。 I'm hoping we'll be able to find out more about it in the next book!Overall, it's a really interesting and enjoyable read for me。 I'll be waiting patiently for the next book to come out so I can continue reading about Zylah's adventure and love story! If you love to read fantasy books with found family trope and magical world building, I suggest you'll take a look of this one!***Book kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review。 *** 。。。more

That will leave her on the run, in the woods, and meeting with a sexy and mysterious stranger: Holt!See when I say the start was very good??But then, when they both arrive in Venarian and Zylah gets a job, meets Raife things will。。。peter out。There was a lot of potential but it didn't deliver in that part of the story before luckily kicking back at the end。What bothered me was that there were things happening, Zylah training, a rebellion to lead, secrets to uncover and at the same time I felt that we went nowhere。Or more accurately that we stayed on the surface。I didn't buy Zylah and Raife's relationship。 I didn't feel the intensity even if they had very heated moments! If you love heat you'll be very happy! It's like they missed something from the beginning。 Raife remained a mystery and their interactions were quite superficial even with their proximity。 Maye because Zylah was not totally honest and kept Raife at arm's length emotionally speaking for so long?I felt a more genuine connection between Zylah and Holt。 Their relationship rang truer than Raife's did。 It felt right, not fabricated, not forced。 Well yes you can guess, I preferred the mysterious alpha male to the beautiful and cocky one What interested me and frustrated me at the same time was Zylah's mysterious origin。 We still don't know who and what she is at the end of the book。 And usually, the secrecy has me drooling and reading very fast just to KNOW。 But I became frustrated when no new ability showed up and when we had no more clue as to whom her parents were。On a bright side, that book has many alluring ingredients!Fae, secrets, a rebellion, a maybe love triangle that is not a love triangle and my favorite: Kopi a cute little owl!So far, my review is in the minority and lots of people love that story。 So don't let my review deter you and make up your own mind! 。。。more

DNF at 25%。There's nothing remarkably bad about this book but I wasn't really enjoying it。 I think the problem is that the inciting incident happened so early in the book that I didn't really care if the main character lived or died。 I never connected with her and never felt the 'magic' of the story。 It all seemed a little lacklustre to me。May retry at a later date。 DNF at 25%。There's nothing remarkably bad about this book but I wasn't really enjoying it。 I think the problem is that the inciting incident happened so early in the book that I didn't really care if the main character lived or died。 I never connected with her and never felt the 'magic' of the story。 It all seemed a little lacklustre to me。May retry at a later date。 。。。more

A Legacy of Storms and Starlight follows Zylah as she joins forces with a group of Fae and a rebellion on a mission to kill the king。This is a hard book for me to review because I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either。 The story is well-written, make no mistake about that。 The steamy scenes are the best parts of the book, but this is a SLOW burn which grated on me more than once。 I also had a really hard time connecting with Zylah, and I think it's because for most of the story we know so A Legacy of Storms and Starlight follows Zylah as she joins forces with a group of Fae and a rebellion on a mission to kill the king。This is a hard book for me to review because I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either。 The story is well-written, make no mistake about that。 The steamy scenes are the best parts of the book, but this is a SLOW burn which grated on me more than once。 I also had a really hard time connecting with Zylah, and I think it's because for most of the story we know so little about her。 I think we could have benefited from knowing the stuff about her dad and brother earlier on。 The other characters were all right。 I appreciated broody Holt and flirtatious Raif。 Far and away my favorite character was Kopi, the adorable owl。Thank you to Victoria J。 Price for the ARC。 。。。more

I loved every minute of this! Zylah is a girl with a dark past, haunted with secrets we only scratch the surface of。 When she crosses paths with Hoyt, they agree to work together for her safety and sanity。 But as the world seems to unravel around them, with romantic interests making their way into her life, Zylah is quickly thrust away from the solitude she once sought。 If I say more, I'm going to spoil it all! I loved it。 For fans of ACOTAR for sure。 I loved every minute of this! Thank you to the author for the early review copy! After some thought I'm going with 3。5/5 stars。This book was a pretty good start to a new series, the main character, Zylah, has a lot of growth to do and a lot to learn as she sets out on her journey。 This first book definitely gave her a good start, but I wish there was a bit more about magic in this book。 One character touches people and turns to ash, a few others can evanesce or travel from one place to another with a thought, and there is som Thank you to the author for the early review copy! After some thought I'm going with 3。5/5 stars。This book was a pretty good start to a new series, the main character, Zylah, has a lot of growth to do and a lot to learn as she sets out on her journey。 This first book definitely gave her a good start, but I wish there was a bit more about magic in this book。 One character touches people and turns to ash, a few others can evanesce or travel from one place to another with a thought, and there is some healing。 However, that's the majority of what I got on magic。The worldbuilding is pretty good and I'm hoping it will improve and expand as Zylah continues her journey。 We really only learned about a very small amount of the world。 Does the king rule over all the land, or just a small portion? I'm not really sure to be honest。I think the main annoyance for me was the romance。 It starts out as what just kind of seems like a fling and like Zylah isn't really interested in him。 Then another character mentions that it's not fair to him if she's interested in another。 And then they're sleeping together all the time? There wasn't much chemistry in the relationship to me and it fell flat。 I will say I flew through this book and it was a fun read and I'll likely continue the series。 I really did like the characters and the idea and plot to the story and I'm really curious to see where it goes。 。。。more

Wow, I received and ARC of this book and it did not disappoint! I have been waiting forever for a book to completely suck me in and not let go, and this book delivered。 Anyone who loves fantasy, romance, books comparable to FbAA and Acotar will love this。 I absolutely cannot wait until the next book comes out,

This book had me from the start! All the details in it made so much sense ! The people she met (that opened up her eyes to a world she had only heard few details about), and the places。 And the details about ger backpain - Magnificent! All of that was very easy to see in my head。 It felt like I walked in her shoes! She and another caracter saved an animal that became her friend and protector。 It was a really good and easy read!I have suspicions about some caracters 。。 it's something off about the This book had me from the start!
